This paper aims at discussing the consequences of the task of the translator when it comes to the translation – made by a Brazilian writer – of the short-stories written by a Uruguayan writer. In this sense, the study of the translations of the short-stories written by Mario Arregui made by Sergio Faraco is crucial to understand the literary streams and exchanges in the context of the South America pampa.
