This article will aim to examine in depth Memorial by Rafael Cadenas, dedicated to his wife Milena and published in 1977, an important year that marks the continuation of his poetic production after eleven years of apparent silence. We have set out to analyse, and then translate into Italian, some of the poems contained in Memorial to shed light on the existential doubts that constitute the Cadenian approach. Thus, the objective of this research is to demonstrate that Rafael Cadenas’ poetic voice is constantly searching for itself and it leads to an incessant questioning of the self, which he perceives as being strange and absent.
