This article examines the intertextual relationship between Horacio Castellanos Moya’s El arma en el hombre (2001) and La diabla en el espejo (2000). It argues that violence constitutes the central link between both narratives and that their combined reading expands the understanding of the Salvadoran postwar period. Drawing on the concepts of testimony, necropolitics, and cyborg, the article explores how violence operates across different social groups and emerges as a structuring force within the novels.
