Francisco Franco, Alfredo Stroessner y sus amanuenses. Contribución para un estudio sobre la escritura de la historia en contextos autoritarios

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the practice of History in authoritarian political contexts, with the aim of studying the control mechanisms led by the agents of factual power and the strategies articulated by dissident intellectuals to overcome them. It proposes a comparative study on the management of the inquiry into the past in the dictatorships of Francisco Franco (Spain, 1939-1975) and Alfredo Stroessner (Paraguay, 1954-1989). These are two reasonably comparable cases, the examination of which makes it possible to establish certain regularities.
