Abstract

This article will address the historic process of linguistic decline of the Kichwa language in Ecuador, from the colonial period up to the present day. The objective is to expand the actual and functional state of the language. Moreover, we will approach the most significant processes of Bilingual Intercultural Education to suggest a teaching proposal of the Kichwa language to be used by the community, that will provide contextualized contents through different levels and criteria of evaluation in order to revitalize the language.
