The chronicles by Pedro Lemebel configure a cartography of the suburbs of Santiago. It lights up those areas excluded from the “official” map of the city. In the case of Loco afán. Crónicas de sidario, the narrator runs through transvesti, prostitution and AIDS, linking gender and sexuality with other variables, such as ethinicity, language and social status, all involved in the construction of a Latinamerican homossexual subjectivity, which is pictured in these texts as an instance of resistance, towards the dominant identity models.
