The research on Lebanese and Syrian-Lebanese associations in Argentina shows that the second till fourth generation Arabs of today share a particular collective intimacy that is the nostalgia for another place. This specific intimacy manifests itself above all within the buildings of Arab associations and includes absent and unknown people, a particular ethnic aesthetics, and the awareness of being a "hyphenated community". The formation of this ethnic intimacy is a strategy to take a recognized position in the Argentine post-migratory nation and the global order of nations.
