A simple journey of the Spanish Cardinal Juan Bautista Vivó Benlloch to the American continent, it became a conflict of interest between Spanish and Italian governments. As seen in this article, the struggle to exert political leverage on Iberoamerica turned each event in controversies and protests. Looking at the documentation produced by this diplomatic mission, we present this episode from each country points of view.
