Acción laboral, represión policial y asesinato en tiempos de régimen militar

This article analyses the assault suffered by a group of workers in 1972 in a sugar cane farm known as Las Matipurana, in the city of Escada, Pernambuco, Brasil. The main target of this violence were the brothers Luís Inocêncio Barreto, José Inocêncio Barreto y João Inocêncio Barreto, who were the leaders of la legal action against the farmer under the Labour Law. After winning the suit these workers were persecuted by the farmer and the police and military authorities.
