The aim of this paper is to show the contribution of postcolonial and decolonial approaches to the interpretation of Foucauldian discursivity, in terms of its use as a conceptual toolbox for the study of political events in regions where colonial domination structures still survive. Both of these approaches argue that Foucault´s thought leaves Eurocentrism intact simply because it doesn’t consider the “colonial difference” as constitutive of modernity, biopower and governmentality. Nevertheless, post- and de-colonial perspectives consider that his theoretical framework has played a positive role in studies carried out from the European periphery.Downloads
