The article describes some of the conceptual bases of the Neo-Baroque, as Severo Sarduy conceives it in his essays. In the context of the series of rehabilitations of the Baroque that, in a “kidnapped” but constant way, sign the 20th century, the invention of Neo-Baroque means a passage: the Baroque becomes a paradigm to define a new threshold of the modernity. Therefore Sarduy (in contemporaneity with R. Barthes) participates in the debates around the negativity and turns the Neo-Baroque (as way of the Imaginary) more into an ethics than an aesthetics. Keywords: Severo Sarduy, Neo-Baroque, Paradigm, Imaginary, Vacuum. Downloads
