Abstract

This article portraits the museological process carried on by the Tabajara and Tapuio indigenous community of Nazaré, State of Piauí (Brazil), considering it as a part of the broader phenomenon of “indigenous museology”. During a collaborative research carried out from July to September 2018, it became clear how, among the variety of museum experiences, in Nazaré developed a specific one making the notion of museum overcome the physical structure where the collection is kept and extend it to other places within the area claimed as indigenous, also expanding the notion of “re-existence” intrinsic to these spaces.
